I'm a bit late to the party - been off the grid visiting grandchildren, but I would like to add that I think you hit the bull's eye with this one - a perfect selection - I have nothing to add and wouldn't change a thing. Crouching Tiger is my favorite movie of all time - came out when I was a practicing martial artist and captured the essence of the discipline it takes to master the art and the heartache of the personal sacrifice that comes with dedicating yourself to that discipline. And glad you reminded me about the Green Knight. We did an in-depth study of the poem in my college sophomore English class and I want to see how it translates to the screen. And having raised two daughters, I can't tell you how many times I've watched the Princess Bride - it's been called the perfect movie by a number of reviewers.

Duh, indeed! A list of adventure films without The Princess Bride? Inconceivable! I'm not a huge adventure film fan, but one that came out of left field at me was Life of Pi. Kind of Huckleberry Finn meets The Jungle Book. The musical adaptation is coming to Denver this spring. Gonna check it out.

The Adventures of Robin Hood is one of my all-time favorites. Errol Flynn is epic. I had always hoped, while growing up, that there was an actual profession of swashbuckling to go into.

Hi Sammie. I really enjoy the Hollywood interpretation of an Olde English story. Another example is 'A Connecticut Yankee in the Court of King Arthur' starting Bing Crosby....a lovely innocence to it. Thanks for your movie recs.
